National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a common Entrance Examination in India for students who wish to study any undergraduate or Post graduate Medical courses in Government or Private Medical Colleges or Deemed Medical Universities in India. NEET is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) which is established by the Ministery of Education as an independent, autonomous and self sustained premier testing organisation with a view to conduct efficient, transparent and international standard Tests in order to assess the competancy of candidates for admission to premier Higher Education Institutions. NEET UG is a pen and paper mode Exam in 13 languages as a uniform Entrance Examination for admission to MBBS /BDS / BAMS / BSMS/ BUMS/ BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in approved /recogonized Medical/ Dental / Ayush and other colleges/ Deemed Universities / Institutes (AIIMS & JIPMER) in India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) provide the results to the Directorate General of Health Services and State Counseling Authorities for Seat allocation as per the Rules and guideliens for admission in each state.

Admission counselling for the 15% All India Quota is conducted by Medical Counselling Committee which comes under the Directorate General of Health services, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt. of India. Students in the State should apply for both NEET and KEAM. Applying for NEET is to appear for Entrance Examination and KEAM to participate in the Centralised Counselling for Allotment of seats.
